Learners are required to follow the steps outlined below.

Step 1: Enrolment

  • Learners complete the official enrolment form provided by APMI
  • Required personal details and declarations must be provided accurately
  • Pre-enrolment information is reviewed prior to confirming enrolment
  • Enrolment is confirmed once eligibility and requirements are met

Learners should ensure they understand course requirements before proceeding.

Step 2: Access to Learning and Assessment Materials

Once enrolled, learners are provided with access to training materials, which may include:

  • A Learner Workbook / Learning Resource
  • A separate Assessment Book or Assessment Instructions
  • An Answer Book / Assessment Submission document, where applicable

Learners are required to:

  • Read the learner workbook carefully
  • Use the workbook to develop underpinning knowledge
  • Refer to assessment instructions before attempting assessment tasks

Step 3: Completing the Assessment

Assessment tasks are completed by:

  • Reading each question or task in the Assessment Book
  • Providing responses in the designated Answer Book or submission format
  • Ensuring all questions are answered fully and clearly
  • Completing practical assessment tasks where required

Learners must complete all assessment tasks independently, unless group work is specified.

Step 4: Assessment Submission

  • Completed assessment tasks are submitted in accordance with the instructions provided
  • Submissions may be made electronically or in person, depending on the course
  • Learners should ensure submissions are complete before submission

Incomplete or unclear submissions may be returned for further information.

Step 5: Assessment Review and Trainer Marking

  • Submitted assessments are reviewed by a qualified trainer and assessor
  • Assessment decisions are made in accordance with unit requirements and evidence rules
  • Learners may be contacted if clarification or additional evidence is required

Step 6: Outcome Notification

Once assessment review is completed:

  • Learners are notified of their assessment outcome
  • Notification is generally provided via email, where applicable
  • Outcomes may include:
    • Competent
    • Not Yet Competent (with guidance on re-assessment, where applicable)

Step 7: Trainer Report and Administrative Verification

For learners deemed competent:

  • The trainer and assessor completes required assessment documentation
  • Assessment records are reviewed for completeness and compliance
  • Administrative checks are conducted prior to certification

This process ensures accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Step 8: Issuance of Certification

Following successful assessment and administrative approval:

  • Learners are issued the appropriate Statement of Attainment or qualification, as applicable
  • Certification is issued in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Certificates are provided electronically or in hard copy, depending on course arrangements

Important Notes for Learners

  • Learners must follow all assessment instructions carefully
  • Plagiarism or misconduct may result in assessment outcomes being reviewed
  • Certification is only issued once all requirements are met and verified
  • Records are maintained in accordance with regulatory and privacy requirements
